From Electrical Engineering to Project Management

Tony Cheeseman. CEO of IQ Property Services Kent

CEO Tony Cheeseman has developed  Project Management processes that have helped scores of clients realise often ambitious plans for residential and commercial extensions, refurbishments new build projects. He shares his experience in the construction industry:

“After qualifying as an electrical engineer, I set up a multi-discipline mechanical and engineering contracting business working on a subcontracting basis to main building contractors. Over the years I saw many clients encountering serious problems with the way these contracts were administered, affecting the project during the build and the quality of the finished product.

This inspired the idea for a consultancy business dedicated to providing a reliable, creative project management service. We pioneered a partnering philosophy to address these problems and to deliver projects of the highest calibre. I launched IQ Consultants to support and manage major refurbishment and new build projects.

Each project we handle is different, designed around the brief and needs of our clients. We’re keen on planning and detail and have grown a strong reputation for successful projects working within agreed timescales and budgets. We support clients with expertise, confidentiality, a proactive style and great communication. Our mission is to turn visions into reality, we source appropriate construction partners, administrate contracts and take care of the complicated logistics of running a construction project on site”.

A Masters degree in Business Administration, coupled with his engineering and industry experience, has equipped Tony with the essential knowledge and skills needed to administer the various and complex elements of a construction project. From the refurbishment of commercial premises to large residential houses and luxury holiday homes, IQ brings a unique perspective to the project management experience.
