Moss, beds, tiles and choices: Homebuilding & Renovating Show 2024

When we wrote an article for August’s Chislehurst Life magazine, we previewed an upcoming event. The event was the Homebuilding & Renovating Show. We attended in September, but it will be back next year (19-21 September in London, and on other dates in other locations). Here is our article with a few amendments from the show as we saw it. But first, a few words on the main image used in this blog post, some of a signpost for talks at the event. As we allude to in the article below, it is a rather graphic illustration of some of the issues and complexities that homeowners face in taking on a new build or renovation project. It is exactly these issues and complexities which we have mastered and can guide our clients safely through.

Some exhibitors swam the extra mile to make their point – Wellis Premium Hot Tubs.

Thinking about your dream home should be easier if you go to an industry showcase, such as the Homebuilding & Renovating Show (ExCel London, 27-29 September), Grand Designs (Birmingham NEC, 2-6 October), or the Ideal Home Show (Olympia Events London, 21 March – 6 April 2025).

The first of these, the Homebuilding & Renovating Show, is coming soon. It describes itself as the “UK’s best show for anyone looking to create their dream home”. Its website – www.homebuildingshow.co.uk – explains that “The Homebuilding & Renovating Show, is the event for anyone who has a home project – big or small.  Brought to you by leading Homebuilding & Renovating experts and now in its 30th year, the show can provide you with free expert advice, inspiring sessions and access to 100’s of brands all under one roof. What are you waiting for?”

Roman tiles are still a thing here, centuries after the Romans departed these shores – Roman Tiles London Ltd.

Tony Cheeseman, Founder and Director of IQ Property Services, agrees. He says, “These shows are great for discovering the latest fashions and gadgets for your home! You are likely to encounter many of the services involved in a renovation or new build project. These include architects, Chartered Surveyors, builders, and more. There are about thirty in all!

“In case that sounds challenging, I can provide free advice on just what is involved in creating your dream home. My company also has a service that is invaluable to homeowners. Our Design and Build service enables property owners to describe their dream, set their budget, and leave the rest to IQ Property Services. We will of course share plans, progress reports, and any issues of note at just the right time, until the project is complete.
