We would like to wish you Merry Christmas and share one or two things you might like to see and know about.
Top Drawer
As Project Managers, we love helping people to create or improve homes so that they’re perfect for their needs. Consequently, we keep up with relevant trends. We recently went to an industry event called Top Drawer, where retail buyers source decorative and designer items that find their way into shops and then homes. We wrote a blog post about it, in which you can read about the Lucky Cat, the popular but sinister Feathers McGraw (see below) from TV’s Wallace & Gromit, some beautiful accessories, and more.
London Build
As 2025 ends, we attended another event, London Build, which is for the construction industry. We will talk about that in our upcoming newsletter. For example, what is the industry doing to be sustainable? What are the latest trends and improvements available to homeowners? And why was there a model steel bridge on display? It was certainly a very interesting show, one well worth writing about.
Community
We like to help our community and to encourage others to do so. For example, we once raised around £28,500 for Macmillan Cancer Support. We’re thinking about ways to do that again. In the meantime, we have heard that the local Sevenoaks branch of the mental health charity Samaritans is much in need of donations, so we have included a link to their donation page at the end of this update, in case you might help them.
There has been plenty going on here at IQ with the continuation of the younger generation taking over the business: Tim Wilson as Managing Director of IQ Property Services (the consultancy arm) and Toby Ford as Managing Director of IQ Service and Maintenance (the facilities management, maintenance and security arm). Toby has an encyclopaedic knowledge of home security and automation, so if you want to make your home very secure and for lots of things to happen without your having to even think about them, he’s your man. We were talking in the office the other day about someone we know locally who had a brand new, pride-and-joy car delivered – and then stolen from their drive that same night. Toby has a handy gadget, the ‘car defender’, that ties house alarms to vehicles and would have prevented that.
So, we’re here and, as ever, ready to advise on how you can create or re-envision your ideal home or add security and automation to your existing home to give you peace of mind and comfort.
